Our Story
Southwest Virginia’s husband-and-wife production powerhouse!
Teamwork makes the dream work!
(I know, it’s cheesy, but it’s true!)
Lisa Crowell has written and produced dozens of TV shows for the Food Network, HGTV, Discovery Channel and others. She also shoots, edits and directs. Lisa began her career as a news reporter covering live spot news, investigative reports and feature stories.
She worked at TV stations in Denver, CO, Minneapolis, MN, and Fargo, ND. She’s interviewed U.S. Presidents, celebrities, Fortune 500 factory managers, and Olympic athletes. But her favorite people to interview are always the offbeat, interesting and unique “regular” folks.
Two of her most memorable shoots include shooting the New Year’s Day Tournament of Roses Parade that capped off a year of documenting behind-the-scenes stories of how the floats are made in Pasadena, California, and interviewing Richard Simmons on live tv who was a hoot on camera and in real life!
FLASHBACK: Lisa won her first Emmy in 1999 for a documentary she produced, shot & edited in Minneapolis, MN.
FUN FACT: Lisa is also passionate about teaching her self defense program to kids and adults, “No Means Know!” She’s trained Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2007.
LITTLE-KNOWN FACT: Lisa was the Goldy Gopher mascot at the University of Minnesota for most of her college years!
Nic Kragh also has a background working in television production. He was in the field on the production crew for "Prospectors" on the Discovery Channel, worked in post-production for "Cake Boss" on Discovery Channel, and worked on video projects and commercials for corporate clients like Miracle-Gro.
Nic is also a career firefighter in Virginia, so the "Firebrand" moniker is fitting! Nic has his FAA certificate for flying his collection of drones. He’s on the drone team with the fire department to help locate lost people or “hot spots” from fires in homes/buildings or brush fires in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
That’s Nic!
WORLD-TRAVELER: When Nic was in the Merchant Marine, he sailed around the world on Navy T-AGS ships, dredgers, and oil tankers.
FUN FACT: Nic also trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Nic and Lisa first met at a BJJ academy in Denver!
FARM LIFE: The couple has Dexter cattle as well as Myotonic goats and chickens on their farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia.
