The Process

After gathering some initial information (the Discovery Consult), the steps to creating amazing videos fall into 3 categories: Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production. We guide you through each phase to make sure your video will have a clear goal and a solid foundation. Read more details about each stage in the drop down menus below.

  • During our initial consultation, we discuss your budget, goals, and timeline for your video as well as define your target audience, the purpose of your video, and what you want to achieve with this project. From the beginning, we ask the important questions because this is where your story begins to develop! Is your video part of a series? Will there be multiple interviews? Do you want animated graphics in your video, logos, voice over, music, etc. Is there a host for your videos and should we use the teleprompter so they can deliver their lines? (We don’t always recommend a teleprompter, but we have the equipment should on-camera talent need one!) These objectives often carry over into the PRE-PRODUCTION stage of planning your video.

  • The pre-production meeting will focus on what your final video will look like and plan out the shoot day.  We nail down the purpose of your video and how to achieve your call-to-action. Who will be interviewed on camera, what logo will we be using, do you want animated graphics, voice over, music, etc.  We create a script, shot list, and further identify the scope of our video project. Not every video requires a script and a list of specific shots, but this is the time to strategize planning so nothing unexpected happens on the day of the shoot.

We plan as much as possible BEFORE THE SHOOT DAY so we know exactly what gear and equipment we need to bring and make sure we are in creative control of crafting whatever message you want to get across to your audience.

This is also when we address Release Forms. Anyone featured on camera may be required to sign a Release Form giving us permission to use their image/voice in the video. The location of the shoot will also require the signature of the property owner to sign our Location Release giving us permission to shoot on the property. And any additional media like art or music that we may be showcasing may also require a signature from the original artist/s on our Media Release Form giving us permission to feature songs, paintings, photos, etc in your video.

  • The “Production Day” is the day of your big shoot! Depending on the complexity of the video production, we may bring multiple cameras, lights, microphones, teleprompter, drones, etc. But don’t be nervous! It’s our job to make you feel at ease and the shoot day is the MOST FUN PART!

The more organized everyone is, the more smoothly the shoot will run. The contract you sign will require a 50% deposit BEFORE the shoot day. All release forms must be signed prior to the shoot day.

  • The final stage is Post-Production when we log everything we shot, organize the interviews, soundbites, and broll, and start assembling a rough cut of the video following the specifics we’ve previously discussed.

Post-Production typically takes the longest amount of time out of all of the production stages because it is very technical. Editing requires creation of video transitions, music cuts, audio mixing, color grading, and any motion graphics or on-screen graphics that have been discussed.

You will have a chance to review your video, and we will deliver the final cut of your video to you as soon as you pay the remainder of your balance.remaining balance of your payment.
